SingTel, Singapore’s largest telecom firm, and FireEye will invest up to US$50 million (S$63.8 million) over the next five years. This includes significant investments related to new advanced security operation centres in Singapore and Australia, as well as training and developing professionals in the area of cyber security.

SingTel will also launch its first Managed Defence solution, which will be powered by FireEye in Asia Pacific. The solution will provide continuous monitoring, detection and quick containment of malware and other perceived threats to enterprises and government organisations.

Based on a 2013 study by FireEye, advanced attackers went undetected for a median of 229 days before they were discovered and the vulnerabilities rectified. The collaboration is expected to help enterprises better manage the growing challenge of a new generation of cyber attacks.
