Cyber threats still not fully grasped: RSA
Pressing need to enforce higher-level cyber security solutions, its chairman says
So said the key speaker at the inaugural RSA Conference Asia Pacific 2013, held last week at Marina Bay Sands and which drew a record turnout from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Though cybercrime was ranked as one of the top five global risks in 2012 by the World Economic Forum, the current level of awareness – while rising – does not translate into actual understanding, said Art Coviello, executive chairman of RSA and executive vice president of EMC Corporation.
Corporations and organisations may be aware of the existence and severity of cyber threats but there appears to be little understanding of the pressing need to enforce higher-level cyber security solutions.
