Two held on cyber crime charge

Two persons were arrested by the Cyber Crime Department for posting obscene and derogatory messages and pictures in fake Facebook accounts, here on Sunday.

In one case, Bathuala Suresh (29) son of Venkateswara Rao and a resident of Kotha Road in One Town area, created two fake Facebook accounts in the name of his estranged wife, one in the name of his father-in-law and another in the name of this sister-in-law (wife’s younger sister) and posted obscene photos and messages with the intention of defaming them.

According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) S. Varada Raju, Suresh was married in 2009 and in 2012 due to harassment, his wife left him and went back to her parents place. 498-A case was filed against him. He was later arrested and sent to remand by the One Town Police Station. He was later released on bail.

“He bore grudge against his wife and her family, and thereafter he hacked her email id and sent vulgar messages to her teacher from the email id and also created the Facebook accounts to defame his wife and her family members. Based on a complaint filed by his wife at One Town Police station the case was handed over to the Cyber Crime Department,” said Mr. Varada Raju.

The Cyber Crime personnel arrested Suresh and also seized the laptop and internet data card through which he was transmitting the messages.

Derogatory messages
In another case, the Cyber Crime officials arrested Sabbavarapu Nagaraju, a resident of Vepagunta for posting derogatory and defamatory messages against the company in which he was working through a fake Facebook account.

Based on a complaint filed by Director of Indus Valley IT Solutions, Chaduvula Ramana Murthy, the police zeroed in on the accused and arrested him. He was using the system allotted to him in the company for sending malicious messages to all the clients and business associates of the company, said the ADCP.
